Interchange Series Minneapolis

The first of a series of events organized by independent curator Matthew Schum just happened September 16th, 2022 in which Schum invited artists, galleries, organizations and local leaders to discuss how they create art space in Minneapolis and beyond.

Discussion centered around the future of our region and the positives of arts advocacy in our climate as conceptual guidelines while also engaging the Glass House as an artistic space in its own right.

The first panel discussion in the Interchange Series featured Indigenous scholar Kate Beane, Director M Museum in Saint Paul, veteran arts professional Rob Sherer, founder of TOA Presents in Northeast Minneapolis, and Chicago-based artist Nate Young, cofounder of the Bindery Projects, an artist-run space previously in the Midway neighborhood.

"The Interchange Series broadens conversations about art, society and ecology in the 21st century. The city of Minneapolis is a central link in these talks to other cities in the Upper Midwest, the U.S. and a world confronted by deep ecological and social issues."  - Matthew Schum
